Life in the Woods: old farm equipment

I live in the woods. We are surrounded by trees now but years ago this was farm country. Potatoes and apples were major crops. I know some farmers raised cattle, and I’m not sure what others had for livestock. If you didn’t now this was farm country a walk in the woods would give you hints. Rock walls, small pieces of equipment left behind, random cedar fence posts leaning a little but still upright, and fencing dot the forest.

Some of the big equipment sits prominently on lawns, pieces of history on display.
