A cow moose walks into a bear baiting station…

This cow moose strolled through the bait station at 5 pm Friday. She looked at the barrel for 20 seconds before moving on. She’s the only thing on the game cam; even the raccoon hasn’t been back. The moose has been walking up and down the road. She’s bigger than I guessed from her tracks.

We put out lures from Cronk’s today. If this doesn’t get the attention of a bear there aren’t any bears in the area. Good gawd it stinks. Horrible. I’m discouraged but I’m not giving up. There are still 16 days til the hunting season opens. I have time. I’m starting to think about a second barrel in a different area.

The three baby birds in the ground nest are getting feathers.
